Ribe havn

Ribe is Denmark's oldest city. Ribe Harbor is located in the middle of the city center, so all the sights of the city are a short distance away. From the Viking Age until around the 1600s, Ribe Harbor was the most important port on the west coast of Jutland for shipping agricultural goods and importing goods such as wine, silk, salt and spices.

Ribe Sailing Club has a home port in Ribe harbor.

Attractions

Ribe Cathedral is magnificent. The cathedral is the main church in Ribe, which stretches from Tønder and almost to Holstebro. From the tower of the cathedral, which also has 248 steps up, you have a nice overview of Ribe town, marsh and river. There are two kings buried in the church - King Erik Emune, who died in 1137 and King Kristoffer the 1st, who died in 1259.

The Ribes Vikings Museum is a museum for the Viking Age and the Middle Ages. The Ribes Vikings Museum is beautifully located centrally in Ribe overlooking the Ribe River towards the Cathedral Here you can experience the Ribe of the Viking Age and the Middle Ages. The museum contains thousands of finds as well as a reconstruction of a full-size marketplace where you can see, smell and feel what everyday life was like in Ribe year 800.

Visit the Wadden Sea Center and stay with Denmark's new Wadden Sea National Park. Take a trip out in the marsh, in the Wadden Sea or to Mandø.
